Greenness Index and Preferences for Interior Landscapes in Residential Spaces

Modern people have limited opportunities to experience the natural environment due reduced outdoor activity time and are not provided with enough encounter landscape, even in indoor spaces. Due current COVID-19 pandemic, spent indoors is getting longer. As number of health-conscious increases, interest introduction plants, which help purify air improve emotional stability, has increased. This study aimed identify direction creating interior landscapes residential spaces by examining Greenness Index (GI) resident preferences. targeted 65 households over two rooms growing plants. Pictures descriptions were collected analyzed. Case studies conducted analyze landscape planning The results indicated that public (72.3%) contained foliage plants (98.5%) containers using soil (93.8%). Residents perceived all components, from containers, considering GI. Residents’ subjective GI (15% on average) was higher than objective (10% calculated photos. Psychological stability visual beauty high for items. Preferred locations living (55.4%), spaces, room verandas (38.5%), functional (52.3%) being predominant.
